2017 April Update

Thank you so much for your donations to Angel Baskets and the community we serve during the Holidays, and Telluride Gives Day!  Your gift assists those in our community who are struggling financially by helping Angel Baskets procure and deliver some very basic necessities.  Angel Baskets is an all volunteer group; your donations go directly to the people needing help.

This past year, Angel Baskets served more that 500 people every month at the three Food Banks we support in Telluride, Norwood and Dove Creek.  That's a lot of hungry mouths being fed for a few days each month.  With donations from community establishments, recipients are also able to pick up produce weekly, and have bread and dairy items to add to their groceries.

The Holiday Program gave necessities, food cards and gifts to more than 500 people in 140 families living in Telluride, Norwood, Naturita, Nucla and Egnar.  More than half the recipients are children and elders.

The Angel Baskets School Supply Program gave basic school supplies to the Telluride, Norwood, Nucla, Naturita and Paradox schools, directly helping more than 350 students.  We  also provided back packs and gym shoes to about 100 kids, and snow boots and water proof pants to about 25.

Our Elder Food Program provided additional food support throughout the year (local grocery gift certificates) to approximately 67 elders living in our west end.

The Apothecary Program assisted families in need of purchasing medication and personal hygiene products at the Nucla Apothecary.

The beautiful thing about you giving to our community is that it reflects your care and concern for our fellow man.  Thank you for your generosity and compassion.

With Gratitude,

Angel Baskets

Volunteers Needed

We need your help.

Our History

Angel Baskets was founded in 1981 to provide help at the holidays for several local families who were struggling financially. Throughout its 35 year history, Angel Baskets has remained flexible, expanding geographically and adding new programs to meet changing needs. Angel Baskets now operates four programs (Food, School Supplies, Elder and Holiday) in San Miguel County, the west end of Montrose County and the Dove Creek area of Dolores County. Angel Baskets remains an all-volunteer organization with no overhead and no paid staff. The three food bank spaces are donated, as are the storage and holiday spaces.
